The "Directions for Handling Book and Material Donations at the National Library of Public Information" were established to enrich our library and ensure the quality of our collections. The document contains reminders for the different donation categories we accept, serving as a reference for prospective donors who are willing to contribute.

Book Donation Policy

The Library reserves the right to review and determine the disposition of all donated materials, including but not limited to collection, display, withdrawal, transfer, or other appropriate handling. Donations must be unconditional, and donors are deemed to have agreed to the Library’s final decisions regarding their materials.

Preferred Materials

Priority will be given to materials that are informative, educational, or recreational in nature, and that have been published within the past five years, or are otherwise deemed to have collection value by the Library.

Materials Not Accepted

The Library does not accept the following materials:

  • Textbooks for senior high school level and below, including entrance exam preparation books
  • Materials for civil service or employment examinations
  • Materials with inappropriate content, outdated information, or lacking reference value
  • Computer-related books published more than two years ago
  • Periodicals, magazines, promotional pamphlets, and religious giveaway books
  • Materials that are marked, annotated, stained, damaged, or otherwise unsuitable for use
  • Materials that violate copyright laws or related regulations
  • Any materials that do not comply with the Library’s collection development policy
