Our platform offers a wealth of free online resources, including newspapers, scholarly journals, magazines, research tools for inquiry-based projects, and language learning materials. We welcome university students and professionals to access these resources anytime outside of school or work, utilizing our digital assets to enrich their knowledge and enhance their professional capabilities.

  • Access the database via the E-Resources System.
  • To log in, use your NLPI Library card account (ID number) and password. Once logged in, you can access all available digital collections.
  • If you do not yet have a library card, please apply online through the Library Card Registration link.

E-Book Online Service Platform

This platform primarily features a collection of traditional Chinese e-books, offering over 50,000 titles and 490,000 volumes. It supports online reading across multiple devices, including PCs/laptops and iOS and Android mobile devices. Available 24/7, the service provides convenient access to digital library resources anytime, anywhere.

  • Readers of this library and the Taichung Public Library may log in directly using their library account (ID number) and password.
  • Holders of a One Card Pass from partner libraries may access the service by activating their National Library of
  • Public Information account via their home library system, and then logging in with their library card credentials (ID number as the account; default password: uppercase first letter of ID + date of birth in YYYYMMDD format).
  • Readers from other public libraries may borrow e-books after completing member registration.

KONO for Libraries Digital Magazine Database

KONO for Libraries provides access to at least 185 magazines from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and beyond, covering a wide range of popular titles. Approximately 90% are current issues, with back issues also available. Features include full-text downloads, offline reading, keyword search, and notifications for newly released issues in saved magazines.

AEB Walking Library E-Journal

The library subscribes to 11 digital magazines in 2026, including Wealth Invest Weekly, Let’s Talk in English (10-user edition), Studio Classroom (10-user edition), Global Views Monthly, Advanced, Business Weekly, Scientific American (Chinese Edition), Trade Insight Biweekly, Smart Auto, Reader, and Taiwan Cuisine.

All titles provide the latest issues with full original content and support keyword search for easy access.

CommonWealth Magazine Group Knowledge Base

This knowledge base features content from CommonWealth Magazine, CommonHealth Magazine, Cheers, and CommonWealth Parenting since their launch, along with a total of seven knowledge bases, including Special Editions Knowledge Base, CommonWealth English, and the CommonWealth Research Center. The collection covers finance, management, education, health, workplace, and digital technology.

Global Magazines Online (Zinio)

Access 18 popular magazines, including Architectural Digest, Conde Nast Traveler, Dwell, Food Network Magazine, Forbes, Great Walks, Harper's Bazaar, Harvard Business Review, Living Etc, National Geographic Magazine, Newsweek, PCWorld, Photo Review, Reader's Digest, Science Illustrated, TIME Magazine, Wallpaper, Yachts International, Cruising World, and Home & Decor. Topics cover business, technology, travel and dining, interior design, and more.

United Knowledge Database – Original Newspaper Archive (United Daily News, Economic Daily News, HaoDu Weekly)

Provides digitized editions of the latest United Daily News and Economic Daily News (updated daily at 6 a.m.), as well as HaoDu Weekly (updated every Monday). Users can browse and search both current and past issues, including full-page newspapers and summaries. Content covers national and local news, charts, and advertisements. HaoDu Weekly is specially designed for young readers, focusing on reading and writing skills.

  • Note: The United Evening News ceased publication on June 2, 2020.
  • User access: United Daily News and Economic Daily News – 12 users; HaoDu Weekly – 10 users.

Painting Memory Method Full-Brain Speed Learning Database

This database offers language learning modules in multiple languages, enabling users to prepare for language proficiency exams using the Painting Memory Method. Available modules include: Full-Brain Speed Korean Beginner Test, Full-Brain Speed Vietnamese Beginner Test, Full-Brain Speed English Intermediate Test, Advanced Selected Courses in Taiwanese, and Selected Courses in Taiwanese Sign Language.

Classroom Theater – Shared Film Platform

Classroom Theater offers over 400 legally licensed films with educational value, covering diverse themes such as gender, life education, human rights, and special education. Readers can enjoy high-quality audiovisual content anytime, anywhere, on their smartphone, tablet, or computer, with new films added every month.

Journals Database (formerly CEPS Chinese Electronic Journals Service – HyRead Library)

The collection primarily features academic journals published in Taiwan, complemented by selected high-quality Chinese and English journals from the United States, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and other countries. It covers six major fields: humanities, basic and applied sciences, medicine and health, agricultural and biological sciences, engineering, and social sciences.

EDS OpenAccess Resource Portal

This platform offers a comprehensive search solution for open-access data, enabling readers to easily locate accurate and credible resources. Featuring an intelligent search function that anticipates user needs, the portal ensures fast and precise access to essential content. The extensive collection includes over 20,000 full-text Open Access e-journals, 10,000 full-text e-books, and 42,000 Open Educational Resources (OER) and digital textbooks. Key features include precision retrieval with relevance ranking, one-click access to full texts, and a user-research-oriented interface. The platform also supports mobile app integration and multi-platform synchronization, providing readers with a highly efficient way to utilize diverse open resources.
